Toowoomba Community Baptist Church invites you to a Sensory Friendly Service designed for individuals and families who experience sensory sensitivities.
🕙 When: Sunday 27th July at 7:30pm
📍 Where: 100 Glenvale Rd, Toowoomba
See the Video Walkthrough and example service overview below - to help you prepare and know the space.
Do I need to talk or interact? No expectation of interaction. Our people will greet you with a smile and discuss your seating options.
What is the sound and lighting like? Softer lighting - sometimes flameless LED candles and Light Acoustic / Semi Acoustic sound at lower levels. No Flashing lights.
Do I need to sit in one place? No - You can get up and move around - we only ask that you don't interact with others during the service.
Where can I got if I'm overwhelmed or need a break? A retreat room for people who get overwhelmed.
Can I leave and come back? Yes
How long will the service last? We estimate the service will last around 30-40 minutes.
Can I bring my own beanbag / Seating? Yes - we have space to cater for these.
Can I bring my support animal? We kindly ask that support animals not be brought to the Sensory Friendly Service at this time, as we want to be mindful of others in the space who may have allergies, fears, or sensitivities to animals. We’re working toward finding inclusive solutions for future services and appreciate your understanding.
Whether you or someone you love finds traditional services overwhelming, this is a safe space to worship, reflect, and belong.
Everyone is welcome. Come as you are.
